Introduction
The Contribute widget is only displayed on embedded Dashboards. It allows people in your organization to contribute posts to your InfoDesk portal from your intranet or other websites with an embedded InfoDesk Dashboard.
The Contribute widget will not be shown when viewing a Dashboard in your InfoDesk portal. The widget is only visible on an external, embedded Dashboard. You can still configure and position the widget in InfoDesk. Read more about embedded InfoDesk Dashboards HERE.
Integration Prerequisites
When embedding Dashboard widgets on other websites, you need an authentication mechanism. The recommended authentication mechanism is single sign-on, SSO. An alternative authentication mechanism is Key Authentication. The Contribute widget requires that your organization have a single sign-on connection to the InfoDesk platform.
The easiest way to integrate is to use single sign-on (SSO). SSO allows viewers to seamlessly access the Dashboard Widgets from your intranet without the need for a username and password. The viewer is not required to have an account in Wide Narrow, and it can be created automatically.
Note that if you don’t have SSO in place, you will get a message that “SSO is not configured for this portal” when embedding the widget. Contact your InfoDesk Account Manager or Customer Success for more information and assistance with the SSO implementation.

Note that you need to check the Contributable checkbox on the Edit inbox form to make an inbox available in the drop-down list. - Text: Add optional text to the widget to encourage people in your organization to contribute to the portal.
- Reply message to contributor: Add an optional text that the contributor will see once a contribution has been made.
