The Newsletter Subscription Widget makes it easy for users to see what newsletter subscriptions are available to them. The widget also allows users to preview and subscribe to newsletter subscriptions of interest.
You can choose if you want to display all available newsletter subscriptions or specific subscriptions. The option to select specific newsletter subscriptions allows you to customize which subscriptions you want to display on different Dashboards.
Prerequisites: Make sure you have at least one newsletter series with an "open" subscription setting.
Add the widget to the Dashboard
- Go to the Dashboard overview page.
- Click on Go to Widgets to create a shared Dashboard widget that can be used on several dashboards OR to create a widget only available for a specific Dashboard:
Click the More icon (three dots) on the Dashboard card and select Manage widgets. - Click the Add Widget button and select an area to position your widget (top, right, or left).
- Click the Report tab in the top menu and then click the Add button on the Newsletter Subscription widget.
Configuring the widget
-
Name: Type the name of the widget. The name will be the title of the widget on the Dashboard. Choose a name that clearly explains the widget, for example, "Available Subscriptions."
If you do nothing, the default text in the text field will be used. - Size: Set the default number of subscriptions to display in the widget. If there are more subscriptions than the set number, the user can press a button to load and preview more subscriptions. The subscriptions are shown in alphabetical order.
- Select if you want to display all available Newsletter subscriptions or specific subscriptions.
- Press the Save button at the bottom of the form. The widget is now available to review on the Dashboard.
- Review the widget. Optional: Mouse over the widget and click Edit widget to make any changes and then Save. Use the up and down arrows to move the widget to another position on the Dashboard.
- Click the Done button to save and activate the widget on the dashboard.
User Access: Only Superusers with Owner or Writer access to a dashboard can add and edit dashboard widgets. All users who have gained access to a dashboard can use the widget.
