When creating a newsletter for the first time, start by creating a new newsletter series.
- Navigate to Newsletters in the black left menu. On the newsletter overview page:
- Click the New newsletter series button in the top right corner of the page. On the Create new newsletter series form:
- Click the User Access tab to add co-producers to the newsletter. Select users or user groups to give co-producers Owner, Writer, or Reader access to the newsletter.
- Click the Subscription tab to change who can subscribe to the newsletter.
- Click the Advanced tab to change the time zone to schedule and show dates in newsletters in local
- time. Click Link mode to select if the recipient should be linked to the post in Wide Narrow or the original source when clicking on a post link in newsletters. Tick the box to e
- Click Edit and enter the name of the newsletter.
- Optionally: Enter a description of the newsletter.
- Post List Automation: Select if you want to add posts to the newsletter manually or automatically. If you're going to add posts automatically, you need to select a saved search as a basis for the newsletter content. To create a new saved search, do so in Search.
- Send Automation: Select if you want to send the newsletter manually or automatically. If you want to send the newsletter automatically, you need to schedule the sendout.
- Click the template tile to preview the template options. The preview pages allow you to preview the templates before selecting a template. Switch between the computer and mobile icons to see how the newsletter templates look on different screens. Select a template by clicking a tile and then click Use this template.
- Click Save to save the template settings.
- On the Create page, click the style (palette) icon in the menu to the left of the banner section and select the font, font size, and background color of the newsletter. Click Save.
Now you have set the basic settings of the newsletter series. The next step is to design the layout of your newsletter sections: banner, headline, post list, and footer.
User Access: The Newsletter module is only available for Wide Narrow Superusers.
