How to use Search Operators when doing searches

When doing free text searches in Wide Narrow, you may benefit from these tips:

• AND / OR / NOT work well in Wide Narrow
• It is highly recommended to enclose each part within parenthesis according to the purpose ((cat OR dog) AND (mouse)) OR ((dog) AND (cat))
• All use of citation quotes (" ") must be the straight ones used in WordPad/Notepad/etc.
• It is a best practice to work in a Notepad program and then copy work into Wide Narrow when creating long search strings.
• Proximities must be written like "near end"~4  (meaning, in this case, max 4 words apart)
• Truncations only work in the post-direction, that is influen* (not in the pre-direction *day)
