Source Types
The Wide Narrow Source Library contains categorized information in various sectors and topics that Wide Narrow's Information Specialists have developed to make it easier for you to create high-quality feeds for your Inboxes.
Source Types adjust how much information will be generated in your Source Library feeds.
There are three Source Types:
- Sector or topic-specific: including sector or topic-specific sources.
- Adjacent sectors and topics: including sectors and topics that strongly overlap the selected sectors and topics.
- General: including general media sources not focused on any specific or overlapping sector or topic.
You can think of several ways when you want to delimit the amount of information using Source Types.
One way to delimit the information is to select only Sector or topic-specific Source Types. Then you only monitor what specific industry sources or subject sources inform about.
Another way to limit the flow of information is to select only General Source Types. Then only information is included about the most important events - within a sector or a topic - that all the media pay attention to and write about. Depending on your purpose, this can sometimes be a better delineation than choosing Sector or topic-Specific Source Types.
If you want broad coverage, you should select all Source Types and limit your feed to other search parameters.
Recommendations when using Source Types
We recommend that you start by including all Source Types, which is the default setting if you don't make any changes.
Start by selecting Source Packs and then click Next to proceed to advanced filtering in Search.
If you find that your feed is getting too large after refining your search and filtering in Search, go back to the Select Source Packs page and narrow down your feed by selecting Source Types:
- Tick the Sector or topic-specific checkbox to only include sector/topic-specific sources.
- Tick the Adjacent sectors and topics checkbox to include sectors/topics that strongly overlap the selected sectors/topics.
- Tick the General checkbox to include general sources not focused on specific or overlapping sectors/topics.
USER ACCESS:
Wide Narrow Source Library is only available for Superusers with paid WN Inboxes, not for free DIY Inboxes.
