If you don't already have a well-functioning process for gathering ideas from throughout your organization, the InfoDesk Contribution functionality can support that process.
Encourage your Innovation Team to use the Contribution button in InfoDesk to share ideas och other input to the Innovation process.
Allow your extended team (or everyone in your organization!) to have the InfoDesk favicon on their cellphone home screen, making it possible to contribute with a photo, a screenshot, a link, or a draft idea on the fly.
If you have a functioning Ideation process established in Teams, SharePoint, or any other tool, connect it to InfoDesk to make it swift and easy to continue the work with those contributions in the InfoDesk workflow.
InfoDesk features to use: Contribute Email to Portal
How to start – Contribute button in InfoDesk
Users can contribute to an InfoDesk portal using the Contribute button in InfoDesk. This feature requires that the people in your organization have access to InfoDesk as end-users or superusers.
- Navigate to Inboxes and click New Inbox to create an Inbox dedicated to receiving the Contributions. In the New inbox form: Check the Contributable checkbox to make the Inbox Contributable.
- Encourage your colleagues to use the Contribute button in InfoDesk and inform them that they should choose your Inbox to contribute to.
- Check your contribution inbox regularly and use the share post function to thank the contributors.
How to start – Email to an InfoDesk portal
People who do not have access to InfoDesk can contribute to your InfoDesk portal by email.
If the email contains a link to a web page, we will extract the title, abstract, and image and add them to the Contribution.
Make the following preparations before sharing the portal email address with your colleagues:
- Navigate to Inboxes and click New Inbox to create an Inbox dedicated to receiving the email contributions. In the New inbox form: Check the Contributable checkbox to make the Inbox Contributable.
- To find the email address for your portal, click on the email icon (envelope) in the header menu in InfoDesk.
- Add the inbox name as a prefix to the portal address with a dot between the inbox name and portal name (example: ice@sendto.ciportal.com, where "Contributions" is the inbox name and "Ice" is the portal name.) Save the address in your email contacts.
- Share the address with your colleagues and encourage them to email contributions to your InfoDesk portal.
- Check your contribution inbox regularly and use the share post function to thank the contributors.
User Access
The Contribute button in InfoDesk is available for all users. Email contributions do not require access to your InfoDesk portal. Inboxes are only available for Superusers and Superuser Admins.
