The InfoDesk Source Library contains over 150 ready-made Source Packs that you can easily filter based on your focus areas and then connect to your inbox.
Creating a good feed involves a combination of several categories and search parameters.
Besides traditional categories like sectors, topics, and geography, AI entities are also available for more dynamic filtering. InfoDesk's Information Specialists have developed unique categories, such as Player types, Boost, and Perspective, to augment the relevancy.
When creating a new InfoDesk Source Library Feed, we recommend that you start with the question: What is the focus of my feed?
Then, use the search and filter parameters to focus your feed:
- Categories: Sectors, Topics, Geography, Languages, Sources
- Keywords: Include and/or Exclude free text search in Title/Description/Content
- AI-Generated Entities: Organizations, Persons, Locations, Subjects
- WN Boosts: Boost, Perspectives, Player Types
How to configure an InfoDesk Source Library feed:
- Go to InfoLab from the main menu or from an Inbox.
- Click the New Feed button and select InfoDesk Source Library.
You can start creating your Feed in two ways: from the Preview and Add filter page or from the Select Source Packs page.
Option 1. Start from the Preview and Add Filter page:
Start from the Preview and Add filter page when you want to start by including all Source Packs when configuring your feed.
- On the Preview and Add filter page, Select a Sector or Topic or a combination of Sectors and/or Topics matching the focus of the feed you want to create.
- Check the filter option checkboxes to specify your filter.
- Enter keywords in the free text fields to further focus your filter.
- Review the feed. The bars in the chart turn red if your feed generates more posts than allowed. Also, check that the content of displayed posts is relevant enough.
- If necessary, use additional filter parameters to improve or limit the feed: More Categories, AI-generated entities, Perspectives, and Boosts.
- When you're happy with your feed, click Next to go to the Create page. Name the feed, select the target inbox, and Save.
Option 2. Start from the Select Source Packs page:
Start from the Select Source Packs page when you want to view all Source Packs and select specific Source Packs to your feed.
Each Source Pack you select for your feed contains a number of different sources. Use the Source Types options to widen or narrow the focus of the sources included in the Source Packs.
- Click the Select Source Packs page to view all Source Packs.
- On the Select Source Packs page, click “Uncheck all selected” to make your own selections.
- Tick the checkboxes to select any sector, topic, or perspective Source Pack.
- Use the Source Types to widen or narrow the focus of selected Source Packs:
- Tick the Sector or topic-specific checkbox to focus only on the selected sectors/topics (narrow focus).
- Tick the Adjacent Sectors and Topics checkbox to include sectors/topics that strongly overlap the selected sectors/topics (broader focus).
- Tick the General checkbox to include general sources that are not focused on specific or overlapping sectors/topics (broad focus).
- Click Next to go to the Preview and Add Filter page. On the Preview and Add filter page:
- Check the filter option checkboxes to create your filter.
- Enter keywords in the free text fields to further specify and focus your search.
- Review the feed. The bars in the chart turn red if your feed generates more posts than allowed. Also, check that the content of displayed posts is relevant enough.
- If necessary, use additional filter parameters to improve or limit the feed: More Categories, AI-generated entities, Perspectives, and WN Boosts.
- When you're happy with your feed, click Next to go to the Create page. Name the feed, select the target inbox, and Save.
